I'm 61. Those are 20 year career windows.

First 20 yrs was as an R&D electrical engineer/scientist at HP

Second 20 years is doing financial content for the internet that started out trying to turn Suite101 that was a curated site of personal finance and investing links with community features like Facebook has now. We parted ways when they wanted to go in a direction I didn't agree with (and failed miserably after I left) and I did my own sites for content that made decent money until Google does what they do... give the info for free that they "pilfer" from their partners so you don't have to visit their "partners." They are not the only one that does this. Sell something on Amazon you make and if it is successful, they have ALL the sales data, then they will find a way to have it made cheaper and sell it themselves. All along I've written my newsletter to #1 help me stay focused and managed my own account AND #2 to have income to pay bills while I grow my IRAs for when I eventually "retire."

Third 20 years, not sure... with the huge promises made by criminals, I mean politicians, for pensions and free education and more in California and the only way to find money to pay for it is to tax anything they can... I'm pretty sure it isn't "safe" to retire or start to give away some of what I have.... so I may go until 70 at this.
