FWIW, I wrote in my newsletter for probably a decade that "low rates are a tax on savers."

Where else do you get money to fund bailouts and keeping government workers employed to avoid a recession and have a minimum impact on investors looking to invest and grow us out?

Savers!

People that were partially retired got really screwed as 5% on savings that were enough to work or not work before the collapse.... saw their safe retirement income slashed to 1% or less..... a real hardship.

For me, it was probably a good thing as I use newsletter income to make up for it and it allowed me to buy really cheap stocks to really profit on the recoveries... but most... not so lucky.
