A real collapse would be the end of society. The global democracies have discovered that they can buy votes and power with printed (borrowed from the future) money. Real inflation in anything of real value (can not print more of such as real estate near high paying tech jobs in places with great weather where the CEOs have more money than god so they don't care what it costs) has gone through the roof. They'll throw tidbits at the masses to tell them they are not losing ground but Trump and other Nationalist politicians have discovered that those who dont benefit from government graft have suffered.

Anyway, the only way to keep the silly pensions systems and promises of "retirement" and "free stuff" going is to keep inflating the stock markets to pay for it and much of it means opening the gates to people who will pay into Social Security but not TRY to collect until you are long gone.

Anyone who really thinks it will all go to zero, IMHO, has no clue.
