Hi ISO,

I have for decades owned a small company called Cohu.

They have said mobility is soft in their webcasts for several quarters. Their business saw it coming1

AAPL's news was not news.

With 5G coming initially in 2019 and getting rolled out globally - who in their right mind would pay $1200 for a very nice phone that WILL be second grade technology with in the current year?

Call it China , call it the US, what it is,is a technology transition point.

The natural expectation from a marketing view, is to anticipate a "PENT UP" market.

Usually when in a product transition time period, you estimate fewer high end sales and drop prices on older lower tech designs and ride on your brand image. It can be justified as lower end sales/bargains, that if done properly, invite the conquest customer to grow up the ladder of finer products in the future.

If AAPL didn't see that coming - they don't look at basic marketing and may well have their arrogant azz up their butt.

That stands for all smartphone makers.

Common sense folks. Move on nothing to see here.

Bob
