I put a link in the Intro to an archived set of pages from AIM-Users.com. Over a decade ago I'd have to give up the web site, but we were lucky to have it be archived. There you'll find a lot of AIM related information, history and suggestions. While some of the histories are massively out-of-date, the basics still apply.
