Pregnant woman, upset over lack of beef patties, smashes New York restaurant’s windows with bat, police say Must be a Yankees fan.
Yankee stadium is 1.6 miles away from the restaurant.
My old neigborhood.
But seriously - this is interesting!
This is a picture of the intersection.
Far right, yellow awning, is Back Home who did not have the beef patty.
Since their name is actually Back Home #2, if it is a chain, probably a small chain if so, a few stores. They might have moved - I sort of remember a store by that name where I bought food; now closed/moved.
To the far left, green awning, diagonally across the street is Golden Krust, fairly large chain who sells Jamaican fare, including beef patties.

So either the woman is extremely stupid (goes without saying, but still...) - she could have just crossed the street and gotten her beef patty! - or maybe she is associated with Golden Krust, trying to hurt the competition... Of course there is the "bath salt" thing.
Or maybe (for those familiar with Jamaican fare), Golden didn't have coco bread to go with the patty, but Back Home does and therefore she couldn't get a proper beef patty meal....
Pictured below, the proper way to eat a beef patty.
For those not familiar with these things, a Jamaican beef patty has fairly spicy - and very very fatty - ground meat encased in a somewhat crusty thin patty roll. It is quite tasty, although it is doubtful that anyone who eats it wants to know the calorie content. That is the extent most non-Jamaicans know about the dish. But, since it is so greasy, to soak up the grease and provide a buffer, some people eat the patty inside coco bread which is a thick puffy roll.
The combination is quite delicious and a marvelous way to break a weight loss diet of any variety.
I believe I've had from both places in the past; ( definitely Golden Krust; Back Home I think from a location they were originally); I'm not sure why Golden Krust is popular enough to be able to support a chain (probably the way they do business, not so much their product); although Golden Krust is acceptable, all the other Caribbean food places I've been to are better than Golden Krust, IMHO.
