I remember talking about the Trader's Almanac back in the 1990s on my Suite101 investing site.

I believe I got a 15% commission from Amazon for recommending it back then when they (Bezos and Co.) actually needed help promoting their books.

His father was the editor back then. I believe it had a lot of interesting data but they were never able to provide a model portfolio that beat the market...

Unless someone who claims to be able to time the market provides a detailed portfolio back 20 years or so, I really don't believe they offer anything I'm very interested in. Cramer has proven you can make a lot of money making a lot of noise while the "Action Alerts Plus" portfolio some started out paying for turned into a "club" to get the ideas that couldn't beat the Total Stock index fund.

I didn't see any model portfolios listed on the new site... but thanks for the suggestion.
