My reason to not eat animal and fish protein someday in my personal evolution:

Space aliens might land here someday on a truffle hunt looking for exotic, tasty protein to sell to rich folks in their system. So they might pick from those of us who treat other life forms as we wish to be treated ourselves and pass over me for my neighbor grilling on the BBQ.

Otherwise, I have no trouble eating meat.
