My favorite service station and the closest gasoline to my house (about 0.25 miles away) is closing soon.

The owner, who owns two other gas and service stations in town, plans to turn the property into an 8-story housing development using Stupidfornia laws that try to force these high density, under parked structures on neighborhoods of mostly single story family homes.

The project will block the views of the 5-story development forced on us about 10 years ago that is under parked and so crowded that the garbage and recycling trucks block our major artery in and out. The over flow parking is already filling the side street behind it so I'm scared the crowds will spread even further as residents park in front of my house 1/4 mile away and use the walk to get in "their steps" for the day...

So here we see the trend.... lose good, small business that support the ICE in favor or over building to cram more high paid workers into our town to fill jobs in other cities while destroying (well, at least lowering) the quality of life of current residents....

There is a bus stop there that we jokingly call "Hotel 22" for the fact the #22 line at night is a shelter for the homeless while spreading scabies to the drivers. paloaltoonline.com

Anyway, to underestimate the stupidity of a state that has cities making it illegal to put plastic straws in plastic cups (that are not illegal).... is not a bright move. -grin-
