You make an interesting point. Wonder if Clinton himself has thought of it...

Unfortunately, they've both been extremely stupid. When called by Jones's lawyers to give a deposition, she should merely have said she had no intention of discussing her private life in public. I don't think there's any way they could have forced her to enlarge on that.

Clinton could then have denied the allegation. He probably wouldn't have been believed, but it wouldn't matter.

All this, of course, could only have worked if little Monica been smart enough not to talk to Tripp. Who I hope will be prosecuted for illegal wiretapping.
