Considering TSLA probably doesn't have a clue as to how they are going to make money, (other than by cooking the books), no it is not worth the market cap. Once you add in the debt, it is even worse.

I am not surprised that the shorts decided to lay into the stock, but if I could have ever gotten a reasonable borrow, I would have never shorted it for more than a day trade. You just don't know what Musk might pull on you from one day to the next and since the regulators let him off so easily, he has no incentive not to lie. He is margined up on bis insider stock so if he doesn't lie, he could get wiped out.on forced liquidation. (the one way he can sell large amounts of stock without breaking the rules)

TSLA is one for the text books one day.
