A good buddy had a Leaf that he leased for a small amount after these incentives like subsidized electricity that lowered the cost of electricity for his whole house. I think he said at one time it came out to getting a new car for $90 a month when you account for the lower power bills.

When the lease was up, I helped convince him to spend his money on something he'd enjoy with more performance, so he just got a Model 3. His wife, a Stanford MBA who is the CFO for a couple of tech companies in SF but works from home, drives it most of the time when she visits her sister in Marin or has to go to SF for meetings so he, who also works from home mostly, hasn't driven it much.

It will be interesting to see how it drives (I've never been in one) and if he thinks it is worth the money.

Some nice cars downtown today and Monday. facebook.com
