>>Andrew, I as a Canadian am amazed how an Independent Persecutor can make the leap from the Whitewater affair into the alleged private affair between the President and Ms Lewinsky.<<

Yeah, its pretty amazing alright.

>>Why does Starr have such power? Who gave it to him? Please don't say the constitution because that is a red herring.<<

Actually I read there was a panel of 3 judges and his own AG, Janet Reno. As for the approval rating, check the polls, no longer 30%. Public trust is not a smokescreen. Is it a smokescreen in Canada? Americans tolerated his past pecadellos on the tacit understanding that he was not messing around with 21 year olds in the White House.

>>This Coup D'Etat -for that is what this is - has been engineered by some special interest groups who don't give a shit about you or your ethical standard<<

Yes, many of us understand that. But the majority of Americans (and Canadians as well, I would guess) DO care about ethical standards, and for better or worse, that is what will rule the day.

I'm not saying there is no hypocrisy involved--after all this is politics. (:>)
