There you go jackin' around in the middle of a serious discussion. Reminds me of a guy I know.
Here's what I think, (and I bet Dub will back me up on this): back when the robber barons were boinking (new derivative definition) grandma and grandpa, or the dillweed MFs that bartered human beings were out there at the auctions, or any other number of truly unpleasant activities were occurring on this little ball of dirt... back then is not now. Using that lame argument is like me tellin' someone that I used to make a lot of money off of sellin' porn films, but I paid for my kid's college education with the money, so it's OK. The people that like the movies would probably agree with me, but that don't mean it's right. Sorry, won't wash. Equating good social programs, (or good anything), with justification for unacceptable behavior misses the entire point. The point is, (IMHO), the end does not automatically justify the means. There is an old Negro saying, "What goes around, comes around." It is totally true. Another way of saying the same thing; "Swim with the piranha, and you will eventually get bit." We have one guy here that has a fiduciary responsibility to perform in a certain way. (pun intended) He does not have to lie or do anything stupid or goofy. That's not in the contract. He is supposed to set a friggin' example. That's the friggin' job, and he friggin' knows it. It doesn't matter what I think of his political views, he got elected, and he is the President of the United States of America, and the friggin' mainstream press is talkin' about his friggin' jizz!! What's wrong with this picture? Sheesh!!
