Janice:

I agree with you. I just find that if I have to tolerate questionable characters in high office, at least let me try to find those whose espoused policies/programs will lessen Gov't's intrusions in our lives and impact on our wallets (esp. for destructive giveaway programs).
The trick, I think, is to choose the lesser of the evils and then constantly push them to promote Governmental policies that you agree with. In my case the Republicans' policies are closer to my way of thinking.

Someone said "Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely" and I believe it is true. That is also why I think the existence of a free and skeptical press is crucial for a free democracy to function. Their job is to shine the harsh light of day on Government power and procedings.
