My guess (unlike most internet pundits - I have no training in immunology) is China did not get the results it did without a treatment that is highly effective. Xi probably told Trump and that is why he's working behind the scenes with Bayer to ramp up massive production of chloroquine to distribute should we get early testing and FDA approval for that "off label use" of the drug.

But what really pisses me off is the Hate Trump news here is misreporting what he said. To me it was clear he had hope to open the economy up in areas without heavy infections while keeping places like NY and CA locked down tight until we flatten the curve. This is what happened in China.
