The internet is a communications device, not a social order. Anyone who accepts it as a social order is living in a fantasy land. People are easily deceived on the internet because they can not read the people they are communicating with. True communications is looking at a person's eyes, reading their body language listening to their tone, and so much more than just words spoken or typed. .

It is so much that way, that when I took a communications course in University, we were trained to try to make our body language more trustworthy even when we were told to speak falsehoods as an exercise. It is hard to do, by the way. . A good politician can often do this however.

On the internet, you have none of that. People are secluded from others and communicate blindly.
