It blows me away that despite many movies from Hollywood and years and years of watching "The Walking Dead" on TV where 99% of the population dies of a virus that turns the dead into flesh eating zombies, the government (other than Arnold Schwarzenegger) was completely unprepared for this.

I took some notes before the crisis that I was going to make hay with... how the prosperity of the tech jobs here were really hurting the poor. Data:
  1. 77% of Oakland CA students get a fully paid for or subsidized lunch. That about what that means...

  2. 1 in 5 families in Alameda County use the food bank

It was bad before the virus... now you take away their jobs and it is horrific.
