Yes and no. What you're overlooking is the fact that SCSI takes some of the load off the CPU. This is especially important in multitasking enviornments. Today's software is actually putting more of a load on the CPU and PC operating systems now encourage multitasking. As the software continues to become more powerful and users become more used to doing more than one thing at a time they will come to appreciate the power that SCSI gives to a system.
