COVID-19 Models and the Clueless: Who is most receptive to pseudo-profound bullshit? Great article! It correlates very well with who is easily fooled by frauds here on SI. No need to mention names. , I watched a fairly detailed, math heavy presentation yesterday from Santa Clara County... it showed curves for if we did nothing to if every measure we took worked as good as possible. The "Live results Curve" that we are seeing today is very close to the dotted one in that graph with the ideal, everything works, a bit lower... Many say Santa Clara worked better than most (compared with Say NY and N. Italy) areas because so many of us understand the math so took it seriously. They also said if that we were to relax and go back to normal, the curve would explode right up to the worst case, do nothing levels... What I got out of it (that was not said) is we're not going back to "normal" any time soon unless there is massive antibody testing and a vaccine. It really sucks now that Santa Clara has a Superbowl quality football team and new stadium for it to play.
