You have to wonder how distracting was the impeachment process on all branches of government responsible for deciphering early intelligence data from China in December and January.
The impeachment of Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States, occurred on December 18, 2019, when the House of Representatives approved articles of impeachment on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Trump was acquitted by the Senate on these two counts of impeachment on February 5, 2020. [2]
I don't carry any water for Trump, but the whole process seemed a waste of time. Just think if Congress had been more interested in why had China shut down a large part of its country with inhabitants required to shelter in place without walking around like we can here even now... and China isolated Wuhan and while frantically building hospitals in Wuhan for COVID-19 patients.

All I remember from Congress is they called Trump a racist to ban travel with China fairly late in the process.
