Thanks for the interesting side track discussion!

Note I wrote to Bob, "Having the ability to work hard and gain wealth and success as you have is the best part of what makes this country great."

Also note I did NOT say anything about having equal results from hard work.

It is said/taught that before the US, at least in Europe, there lacked the ability for a smart, hard working and lucky person to get much further ahead than their parents.

Here in the US it is comparatively rather common.

Someone like Marc Cuban is pretty unique to the US. Cuban went from selling goods door-to-door to a billionaire ($4.1B?) owner of the Dallas Mavericks and "Shark investor" in hundreds of small businesses where he helps others he believes in move up in life in exchange for a share of the business.

Yesterday Cuban told Chris Wallace he changed his mind and COULD run for president.

I think the real key for the US to "remain great" is to do all it can to insure "equal opportunity" for all to have success. That probably means feeding poor kids in poor school districts so they are not hungry while trying to learn. It probably also means hazard incentive pay to get good teachers to leave the highly paid Los Altos school district to go teach in Oakland and other poor, dangerous schools.

It probably also means the media has to focus more on "heroes" like Stephan Curry who give back and help their communities (from $ donated to great causes to doing Instagram videos with Dr. Faucci to encourage his followers to shelter-in-place) rather than rappers showing extreme wealth with gold chains and teeth earned by using the N-word in songs and treating women as objects in videos.

Anyway, I guess the point I wanted to make is "equal opportunity is not the same as equal results."
