Hi Kirk,

The drive is going to be the restriction. I can make it with 3 gas tank fills.

We have a nice Drury at the halfway point. I doubt I'd attempt just running through without the stop. I do'nt like to drive at night anymore.

We have to transport our 6 cats - that means we'll have a stop at half way.

Not to worry, the garden must go on.<smile>

Last year I did a lot of internet searches on converting my raised garden beds into green houses. That sounds like an excellent project to complete in mid summer.

I cut down 16 big boxelder trees that were casting a lot of shade on the beds. So that will help too.

I bet I could grow lettuce, cabbage, brussel sprouts, kale, spinach and radishes into January with a hard cover green house.

I always tend to stay in Wisconsin too long. With two homes,it requires a balance of time to keep both in tip top shape. It's a lot of work, but I'm hard headed about giving either one up.

Keeps me young in many ways.

So many projects and so little time.

In the long run,I'll sell the houston home. I've got my schoolhouse converted into a very nice repair facility.

After the canning is done,I'll use the winter for restoring a car a year or two. I've had that as a "thing to do" ever since I was 17 and bought my 54 vette and 55 nomad.

Stay healthy Kirk. That drive with Mom (and girlfriend) sounds like a great get away. I bet it will boost attitudes and prove a recovery is in the works.

We've got our perennials trimmed and are in bloom now. Jan is itching to go buy some flowers for around the house. I'm making good progress on the soffit and fascia - it's looking good.

I trimmed my cypress trees and citrus trees. Looks like will have a good crop growing this year.

Still have to mulch everything, but it's greening up and blooming nicely around here. Our monarch butterfly milkweed has really attracted a lot of butterflies this spring.

Spring gives us hope eternal.

Bob
