| | | I have to brag on my wife's cooking ability (I learned a lot from her and probably started with a minus side short of knowing peanut butter - LOL)..We grow a lot of yellow pole beans "Monte Gusto" from Jungs. You could hang that on a trellis and they produce so much we get sick of picking them. We give away hundreds and freeze hundreds.
Used to blanch them, but they got soggy. Now we just pick and freeze them.
At any rate, she puts them in a bowl covers with olive oil, salt and pepper and puts them in the oven at 400 till they get crunchy and/or slightly darkened before becoming burned. It overcomes the soggy texture from freezing.
I caught that you were referring to your girlfriends mom. It's great you have senior family member to talk to and take care of. Both of our parents are now gone. I had a wonderful remeeting of my mom as I came to Wisconsin to care for her over her last 8 years.
I'm really torn between both places. Texas is warm in the winter, but really no fun out in the heat of summer.
Wisconsin is my home, and where I have the most friends many long time friends.
Texas was a great place to earn a living and save money, Inexpensive real estate and no income taxes. I worked many hours and my circle of friends ended up being my employees and work mates.
Wisconsin is more fun and friendlier, but cold in the winter. It is longer than it is brutally cold. If we sell the Houston home - we'll get away from the long Wisconsin winter in April,by traveling or rent a home for a month in different places - might even drive pull an RV. I love to fish, so Costa Rico might be a thought.
The school can get busy with buddies around and I like that a lot. Two of my best friends really helped me convert it and complete it. In fact they both have keys to it. When Evers shut down all the bars, my school has become a place for those two to meet and drink some beer. In fact last week they had 10 people there and they called us on the phone and we all laughed and told funny stories about dealing with cabin fever.
Rainy day today here.
Taking a breather from the house.
When I get back there I'm going to get internet there. Set up a wifi and watch the market while I spend much more time working on my cars.
Have a great sunday!
