You defeat yourself. Vietnam was legally divided into two distinct countries. So by your own definition, it was not and cannot be termed a civil war. By contrast I and others maintain that a civil war can be between and among ethnically/culturally/historically related peoples, regardless of arbitrary/formal boundaries. In that sense, WW I and II can be seen as starting as European civil wars and being globalized by our entry. If N & S Korea went to war, what kind of war would that be? What is Bosnia? You aren't quite with it, are you? Yours is a fourth grade history text definition, not exactly a sign of sophistication. You make it so easy. Are you for real?
