I wouldn't say that I wasted my youth. I lived debt free and actually completely free. I was the poster child for work hard, play harder. I used to choose gyms based on how near to my work they were, b/c I knew there would be spurts of me not going home for days on and I'd need a place to take a shower. And I always had food and a 2nd set of cloths at work.

And when I'd finish my contract, I'd take open ended airplane tickets without a return date. I'd come back whenever I was bored of travelling. I hiked across Asia, Europe, Oceania, and of course many places in the US and Canada. And I tried pretty much every activity that had a high probability of getting me killed ;) from hang gliding to scuba diving with sharks, mountain biking in the rain forests, or off track skiing in the Alps.

I was known as having so much fun, that the universal response when I told people that I was getting married was shock. It has had it's toll on my body. There are many parts that had to be reattached and every so often now give me pain. But I would not change that. I'd just be wiser with money...and women. But otherwise, I'd do the same life.
