Optimism and hype are not the same thing. Marshall, like many of us, has been (and remains) very optimistic about the BT product and its market potential. I read the posts on your site related to Marshall's ongoing commentary on this thread. I don't see the "hype" in your selection of quotes; however, I see that you have manipulated history a bit and taken posts out of context to make your point.

I agree with some of your evaluations of this company. Many would have done well to listen to your advice at $7.50. However, remaining optimistic is not "hype". Let's not confuse the two.

Ironically, in your first post referenced (Aug-97), you say "My largest holding at this time is ELAMF. I expect to have to wait 3-7 months before making a nice return on it." Should I accuse you of hyping the stock if I purchased it > $12 in August and now sit at $7?

As investors we look at companies, evaluate the prospects, and make a decision. Sometimes we are right. Sometimes wrong. And, hopefully learn from our mistakes.

And, keep in mind that this thread is nothing more than a social club for "high-tech investing". This is not a criticism.

I'm sure the final chapter has not been written...
