The main problem with Trump is incompetence and corruption. Those are very big things to sweep under the rug. On the other hand, he is not really wrong about China or about how big corporations abuse H1B. So when it comes to jobs he is on the right track, even though his execution has much to be desired. And this is leaving aside all the racist empowerment and Covid-19. On top of that, Trump is extremely divisive.

I am not sure that longer term the country will survive well with another Trump term. If Trump wins, DNC will abandon all appeal to moderation and will run on a Sanders+AOC platform in 2024. And chances are that they will win b/c the history and the demographics will support that. This will bring about an even greater resentment from the Right. This cycle of alternating between increasingly greater extremes will make the country even less functional.
