Diogeron, awl.com Cox headed JFK's "Brain Trust" during the 1960 campaign, and served as the head of a group of academics who provided speech material to Kennedy. Records in the Kennedy Library reveal that Cox's group provided raw material for hundreds of speeches and articles turned out by the Kennedy operation, although Cox never felt he had a meaningful impact on the campaign.
