I felt like those surfers earlier this week when I was trying to get going fast windsurfing... mostly slogging and a buddy on a wing foil went cruising by. They look like a great ab workout once you get good and your shoulders get used to holding the wing up high. I worry that the accidents will be deadly with those sharp knives flying by ... they turn so easily and they often don't look so you don't want to be around one as they can suddenly turn into you. I heard the Maui harbor masters are giving them tickets at the harbor in Kanaha for interfering with slow moving shipping traffic... probably trying to ride the wakes as that is a flat place to learn then you get better and try wave riding I bet... I'm still unsure if I'll pick it up. The falling and crashing often part while learning is not fun when you already have one hard sport you are good at and seldom have big crashes.
