Like I said, people have short memories. I still recall my father and I joking that the automakers were crazy trying to sell SUVs shortly after the oil crisis. We figured there was no way anyone would buy a gas guzzler and small cars would prevail. Up until recently, every soccer mom wanted an Escalade, hummer, Suburban etc. Every guy was in an extended cab 4x4 truck that never left the pavement.
There are still house flipper shows on TV after the 08 housing bubble pop etc.
