Hi Kirk, I fly up Thursday afternoon.

All my face book friends are bitching about the cold -20 wind chill (it is extreme). I got a call from my forester consultant and he said it's so cold he stayed in the house. He's a young man's man in the woods!

It all is a really good set up for an exceptional year from what I see.

Lake Winnebago needs to freeze up and then get snow cover onit so the sun doesn't shine through the ice and create an algae bloom.

We left Wisconsin in a snaw storm and since then it has been brutally cold, so that looks like an ideal setup.

My spearing partners will be out on the ice this week and looking at water quality and doing a red worm count in the muddy bottom.

The Sturgeon will be feeding where the red worms are.

If you find the red worms and the water is clear, it will be a great season and over quickly (second weekend).

My spearing buddy has worked overtime for his employer and helped get up a new assembly line he designed the automated equipment for, so instead of just weekends , we're spearing every day.

Gonna be cold cutting in the kegs and banking the shanties, but after that we've got heaters and great friends to have fun with on a annual Wisconsin only thang.

Great comradery is hard to find!

Thanks for asking.

Hope to post pics of our catch on FB!

Bob
