Hunter: The most morally dispicable position is to say that a so-called common good is supreme to the individual. This is the antithesis of the principles America was founded on (under the Declaration of Independence). Individual right must always be placed over an amorphous 'common good' which doesn't really exist anyway. Read Ayn Rand to understand the rights an individual must have in a free society. Soviet Russia and the Peoples Republic of China are examples of the State being run for 'the common good'. FT
