I have zero interest in writing a paper or making a name for myself in academia...

Nothing in that I care about.

I'm actually more stunned to learn how ridiculously rudimentary it seems the academics understanding of the markets really is... which, of course, explains a lot... given they're the idiots that have crafted the mess we're in now... because others did listen to them...

Also, see zero potential to profit from back-testing to prove to someone else... what worked just fine for me already back in 2001... just as well in 2008... again in 2020... also without ever having any need to explain it to clueless skeptics in ivory towers back then.

I did post my opinions about obvious dot.com frauds being ample evidence of "a bubble" here on SI... which did not make me overly popular...

Speaking truths others don't want to hear... or otherwise don't want told... rarely makes one popular... which wasn't news to me then...

But, it should also condition your expectations of "progress" being made in academia... even in proving the obvious... if you address the effort with an excess in expectation for reward...
