That makes it even more important to raise it to $15 in poor states, as that is the quickest way to raise the poverty level in those states. And also raise the standard of living in those states.

Yes, some businesses will suffer, the one's paying slave wages, but the over all good will greatly outweigh it, e.g. forcing all those corporations who exploit the poor to pay a living wage and that will dramatically increase the amount of money going into those states.

That will raise both the standard of living of so many poor people, but will also raise the standard of living for the entire state, as the additional money the corporations and other businesses will pay to people in the state will be spent in the state, and create even more businesses than it loses!!

I am more worried about those living in abject poverty in poor states, than losing some mom and pop businesses who are operating on the fringe by paying slave wages.

"If a business cannot pay $15 it shouldn't be in business"

If you raise it to $15 too fast, they won't be. Those businesses won't be in my state, cuz we're basically there. They'll all be in the (red) states at the bottom, and they won't be Walmart and McDonalds in the burbs; they'll be small businesses in small towns..

"What you have failed to understand, or accept?, is that society's needs take precedent over individual needs for good reason"

Society isn't the one paying the wage. If you want it to, tinker with earned income tax credits, and such, and pay low-wage workers from the treasury. We just did something like that in the covid bill.

You can quit looking for states which raised rates 2 bucks/year in multiple consecutive years; there aren't any. If the 5th largest economy in the world didn't dare try that experiment, the poorest states shouldn't be doing it.
