Logically, obesity rate should be correlated with mortality rates (covid or not) as it brings about a number of illnesses. It may be that medical conditions fostered by obesity are also the same ones that are very dangerous with CV19. Then there is the issue that obesity increases with age.

So you can dig in if you want to and it will be interesting to know. But I think there are a lot of variables to control for.
