I think becoming a foundry will restore Intel to leadership eventually.

How do you have confidence that they will regain manufacturing technology leadership as a foundry?

Isn't Intel's big problem that they are now XX years behind TSMC is semi manufacturing? The lead, once lost, is seldom "regained", right?

I don't see how "becoming a foundry" allows Intel to leap ahead of TSMC and other edge leading foundries.
