There is an advantage to "flying under the radar."
On average, Canadians pay ~3% higher taxes. But boy is that 3% used well
The US arms dealers didn't set their sights on your leaders to convince them it was their holy duty to "protect the World for Democracy" or some such BS that gets our leaders to buy excessive amounts of weapons rather than spend the tax money (or borrowed money) on helping people.
