We tried that with Trump and look at how much "they system" of both parties like it... the didn't!
So my vote is not for more taxes or less taxes. It is for the people who will at least try to change the system, even if they are likely to fail.
There was CONSTANT lying here about how he lowered taxes on the rich. That was a lie because ALL the wealthy in NY and CA saw taxes go UP due to the loss of most SALT deductions. I have friends who STILL lie about it because they hate Trump and refuse to admit they hate paying more taxes. I started charting revenue collected by the Treasury via taxes every month and I don't recall reading anyone say it set a record in September for the most taxes collected in any month before or after the pandemic. The problem is spending went up faster than tax revenue.

BTW, I agree with you on how it should be. I'd also add that any new spending plans should come with death certificates or "expiration dates." so the programs end and the workers move on to something more productive unless it is shown to be so successful that it helps the economy and pays for itself, then congress would clearly renew it.
