Provincial income tax in Canada makes a big difference. Canadians are taxed 1/2 federal level. Sales tax is up to 15% in places in Canada where you won’t freeze to death (not many places) -g- my personal experience moving from BC to FL was a considerable drop in income tax (FL does not have one). Lower income Canadians are better off because of excellent insurance. Back in the day I was there it was only $32 cad a month for a single person, $70 for a family. True, you may have to wait forever for certain complex operations, but a hospital stay won’t bankrupt you in Canada. It will in the US.
