As for policy, the media is 99% left leaning and has changed views on issues in one generation. Name 2 TV shows that doesn't have a flaming over the top gay character. 80% of commercials have mixed race couples. TV society is very different than the real general population of the US.

I've been pondering the relevance of this paragraph, and I've concluded that it is not relevant at all to the discussion on the wisdom of crowds. TV shows, (and plays, and movies, and romance novels ) cater to their advertisers (who pay $$ to run the shows) first, Now the advertisers may try to sample the crowds, but are more inclined to try to influence the crowd instead of determining what the crowd really wants. (To the advertiser the answer is always the crowd wants what they are selling)
