Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 6.2 percent before seasonal adjustment. I wonder what did the stock market and housing prices increase over the same period? I'll bet more than 6.2%. CPI calculates consumer stuff inflation. How about investor inflation!!? If prices are up 6% but wealthy investors assets are up 25%, voila, wealth inequality increases!
