My Market Outlook

In my investment portfolio, I am long 85% and I use the other 15% to either hedge the down side with inverse funds or enhance it with leveraged funds. Right now I am neutral/bullish.

In my trading/speculative account, I am switching to longer timeframes, (daily, 8hr, 2hr charts). Which is to say I expect longer lasting moves. I am less certain as to where we are now, but am still biased towards the long side. A lot depends on what happens overnight and into Tuesday morning.

On a longer term basis, it seems to me that the market is starting to price in a recession or a slowdown for early 2022. If you've been following what I have been saying for months, you know that I expect a sell off based on this exact scenario. It's center should be the Chinese new year, give or take a few weeks. I also expect the sell off to become a buying opportunity because many may panic that it is the end of the bull market, but it won't be.

The above is pure speculation on my part - call it an educated guess or an intuition. So far it has been playing out as I have expected. But it doesn't have to follow the path I've laid out. I will be playing it on daily charts as it gets closer.
