Thanks for sharing the N.Y. Times editorial. Isn't the Times fairly liberal, incidentally? In that sense, yes, it is amazing.
We are in the middle of severe storms out here in San Francisco, and all programming except soap operas, for some strange reason, is pre-empted by local weather reporting. I guess some people think closed freeways and houses slipping into the sea are more important than this national crisis. I mean, how rude!! So it is very difficult to get current news that is not relayed by a local tv person. Can you tell me any more details about Tripp, Starr and the safe house?
You know, I feel really sorry for George Stephanopoulos. He is an idealist, and worked for Clinton because he believed in his platform. He is also a bit of a straight arrow, a minister's son and grandson, if I recall correctly. He has said from the beginning that IF these charges are true it is a huge waste of all the time and energy so many committed staffers put into this administration because they believed in the president's programs, and that he felt personally very hurt and angry. I also think it is a very difficult position for him to be in as a news commentator on ABC, and I think he has walked a tightrope very gracefully. |
