>>>Thank you Franklin. You seem to have made a coherent post for a change.<<<<

Yeah? Well, here is another one!

In June of 1997, Brooktrout introduced BOSTON (Brooktrout Open System Telephony architecture), its next generation Universal Port(TM) software architecture that forms the framework for delivery of development tools and messaging platform components for electronic messaging applications. Products delivered under the BOSTON architecture will accelerate the development of electronic messaging systems and services, providing a migration path for existing applications as well as backward compatibility. Brooktrout also introduced Version 4.0 of its TR Series fax and voice Application Programming Interface (API), the first version based on BOSTON that incorporates key features of the BOSTON architecture, which lowers the cost of maintaining existing applications and reduces the time it takes to implement enhancements.

Brooktrout also made a successful entry into the Internet Telephony market with the introduction of its IP Telephony product line and the initiation of a strategic partnership with MiBridge, Inc. The product line includes software developer kits and boards that enable system vendors to develop standards- based IP fax and IP voice solutions under a common software and hardware environment. Brooktrout's partnership with MiBridge, Inc. enabled it to accelerate time to market for delivery of standards-based IP Telephony products.
