Someone who was transparently truthful would say that she had hidden in the bathroom to avoid an embarrassing situation, if indeed that was the truth, and she was asked under oath. I am not saying that this is the truth. These are all ALLEGATIONS. But I think that what MAY be shameful about Betty Currie is not the POSSIBILITY that she gave Starr truthful information about the president that was less than flattering or helpful to Clinton, but that a man in a position of power would hide behind his secretary for protection, or put her in potentially incriminating situations involving his extramarital sexual behavior. The workplace really should be free of this kind of ALLEGEDLY amoral vibration, so that a professional secretary can do her work without feeling POTENTIALLY anguished.
