And don't forget to add one of the most effective tools in the bag of tricks of cult leaders, Ostracism. A practice we witness here on SI by one of the more vocal cult leaders who is suffering now, hoisted by his own petard. You have to wonder if those who encouraged not getting fully vaccinated by providing noise in his forum to make it appear popular so he can sell services to the gullible feel the slightest bit of guilt. For most, who may be paid shills, probably not. For those with real names whom I've had pleasant interactions via email using real identities, my guess is yes.
I hope your wise words are not falling on closed, deaf ears.
