It always amazes me how some don't care or pick what they think are high quality stores then buy there at whatever price. Then there are some like me who have very good memories, can remember what stores have tomatoes or NY Steaks on sale and have a hard time paying "full price" anywhere else.
Perhaps too often, I'll ask her what did that cost - instant reaction to that is: I don't know , I wanted it and bought it. LOL
A young gal I used to do things with when she was getting her PhD at Stanford while I was at HP moved here after getting married and having a kid. We sometimes meet up to hike and chat. She says us engineering types who look to optimize price, performance, etc. are built that way. Add in the memories from being "starving college students" and it becomes a lifelong habit.

Jay Leno will pay $1M for a car he likes but says he won't pay $80 or more for a steak in a restaurant... which I think now is pushing $100! My thinking is buy food outside I can't easily make at home.

All I need to know - its BAD! Trust me on that one. <smile>
I haven't seen empty shelves here, lucky plus we're highly vaccinated so people are getting a lot of colds that testing shows is COVID. People I know who have had it recently have no idea how they got it too.

I heard half the people who come into the hospitals here for something else end up testing positive for COVID but they are not showing symptoms... Despite precautions, they are passing it on to hospital staff who have to stay home but they changed the rules and let those not showing symptoms come back and treat others who test positive but need care for COVID or something else.

Really enjoy talking with you and your factual command of things and events!

I enjoy talking with you and your perspective on life and investing also. It is wonderful that there are a few like you who can remain civil with people who don't agree with 100% of your beliefs.... it seems to be getting rare these days, sadly.

Go '9ers! Will Rogers become Oh for Four tonight?
