I used to get flu vaccine faithfully until a couple of years ago. For various reasons I thought I would try a year without and do my own study, series of one!! Got the worse flu I have had in a very long time that year. Lost a weekend and was sick as a dog! Needless to say I have been first in line since then!! Maybe anecdotal for all those engineers and statisticians who care but it definitely reached my “level of significance”!
