They eliminated table service during the dot com bust when money got tight here and the inflation hit so they figured saving 20% on tips plus less staff required with the high min wage... My Dad loved to eat there or the famous Chinese place, Chef Chu's, next door... we'd often rotate for our monthly lunch. I know why the 1% on my list are so thin and healthy... they go to the crazy expensive places here where they put a salmon egg and a salad leaf on a fancy cracker with some olive oil mayo they call Aioli and charge $20 for a couple of those appetizers... while I got a coupon in the mail today for TWO "Western Bacon Cheeseburgers" for $6.99 at a fast food place... The bottom 25% waddle into the fast food places and probably get the most calories for the buck of anywhere on the planet, even in Taxifornia! Don't even get me going on how we should somehow cover the cost of treating health issues from people being allowed to sell such stuff... rather than letting Buffett take the profits to the bank. Oh well, I'll sound like a commie if I keep that up! LOL
